I don’t mean to alarm anyone but… summer is just about half-over. We’re running out of time for summer projects to be summer projects. I was going to power wash the entire driveway and wash and wax my poor, weather-beaten Mazda 3. So far I have managed to do half the driveway and the Mazda remains caked with mud-spatters and winter salt. I could just take it to a car wash but it is, unfortunately, my guinea pig.
I have never used a power washer to wash a car (I don’t think Power Wash Simulator counts, you can’t absolutely destroy the finish on paint and wood in that game). So in order to save money on the fancy foam-cannon wash that the paint and detailing place offers, I need to teach myself to do a pro-grade job by myself. Any mistakes I make? The Mazda will be the unfortunate victim. I am pretty sure if I only use the wide-angle nozzle from a reasonable distance I’ll be safe, but HOA listeners know that I already got carried away washing the driveway and kind of… excavated a pothole using a high-pressure spray. There is a nonzero chance I’m going to immediately strip paint off my car using this thing.
Sometime before the cold weather comes, we have to build a woodshed and figure out how to make sure it doesn’t either collapse or become a habitat to a robust population of pests. Trouble is, keeping house is now such a vastly more time-intensive process that I’ve no sooner wrapped up a cycle of vacuuming, mopping, laundry, and mowing that I am back to the start of the cycle. Wait, I need to clean the grill again? Already?! But when am I going to do my projects?
And don’t even get me started on the situation with the cottage roof and the studio build-out.
