It was a quiet week for Remap but a busy one for yours truly because while Patrick's been away, we sold our condo! Did we get everything we hoped to get from the sale? Not quite. I'd had daydreams of a hotly contested bidding war where competing magnates fought for the pride of owning one of the most beautiful condos in the Merrimack Valley.
At the end my realtor would turn to me and bow like a loyal retainer: "I see now the wisdom of your choices. Your paints and slat wall have made me a very rich man, and I regret that I doubted you for a moment." I would generously forgive him and even offer some praise for his efforts as the sale was written up for Bloomberg and The Financial Times: "How Remap's Rob Zacny Transformed the New England Condo Market". There'd be a picture of me in front of my slats, with the Carver speakers staged next to me for the purposes of the picture.
Instead we got our very respectable asking price. Slightly disappointing than realizing a 2x return on our little 2-bedroom but it also lets us stop living in a home that was being kept ready for open houses and showings at all times. I haven't been able to get to half my closet in over a month because it was bursting with all our assorted crap just to keep it out of the way. Using the laundry room required a series of Twister-like maneuvers to access the washing machine. We were spending five hours every weekend trapped inside our car with the dogs.
So whatever we end up getting out of this sale, it's worth quite a bit just to have this process over with and for life to start to feel a bit more normal here in the final weeks before our move.
While all this was unfolding, we still had an exciting albeit Klepek-less week.

- STREAMS: Cado went absolutely sicko mode in Civilization VII. It's beautiful, really. They spent an entire stream on Thursday just rolling over our enemies with tanks and guns, then came back the very next day to grind whoever was left into dust. Will this game end in nuclear fire? I guess we'll find out next week!
