A few years ago, we inherited a bunch of additional Halloween props from a friend of a friend. The problem is that several of the animatronics cannot handle being out in the rain, which means you're kinda stuck putting them inside and/or yanking them on and off the yard when it's appropriate. It was, for a long time, supposed to rain like cats and dogs on Halloween, but instead, we got a largely gorgeous day that had me ready for snow to finally start falling in the weeks ahead. But it also gave me an idea to put out a scarecrow, whose IR sensor tracks if you're coming close—before leaping into the air. We put the "normal" candy in a bucket on one part of the lawn, while we put "bonus" candy underneath the scarecrow (with a sign that implied it would jump). It took me a minute to get the IR sensor working properly, but one of my favorite parts of the night became checking in on our garage door camera and howling at kids trying their best to approach and not be scared. The one person who was not scared? A delivery driver. He just walked around it.

- Library-Tier Podcast: Travel Pod (Monday, November 2) – In a strange twist of coincidence, both Janet and Chia spent time in Japan over the past few months. It’s been a minute since we’ve done a travel pod, and rarely one that gives us the opportunity to mull video game box art, gunpla, the ethics of otter cafes, and so much more.
- Stream: Marathon (2:30 PM, Tuesday, November 3) – Need a way to pretend the midterms aren't happening? Come hang with Rob and Chia as they single-handedly keep Bungie's game alive.
- Library-Tier Podcast: Sports! Mini (Tuesday, November 3) – The Bears don't play until Monday night, at which point they'll experience likely their toughest test of this season. Can wildly overpaying for a defensive player give them a shot against one of the best teams in the NFL?
- This will be released for everyone else on Saturday.
- Stream: Jump, Rank, Repeat (2:30 PM, Thursday, November 5) – We're going to enter our BritHop era! (We haven't forgotten about Human Fall Flat either; we'll return to that game probably in-between times where we're ranking.)
- Article: Hellraiser: Revival Review (Thursday, November 5) – I haven't felt compelled to truly write about a video game in a minute, but I think I'll have to here. But it's also a weird week, with the kids home for an "e-learning" day because their school is a polling place, so we'll see if I can pull this off.
- Another article scheduled for this week, but like this one...stay tuned.
- Podcast: Remap Radio (Friday, November 6) – I'll be back on this one! And I can talk about a very big game that's coming out soon.
- Library-Tier Article: Letter Series (Friday, November 6) – Sorry, last week's got away from us. But you're going to hear me complain about concert tickets.
