For the second day in a row, I’ve been able to have all the windows in my house open. It’s a bit warmer than I would like, but I can’t bring myself to close things up and turn on the air because it’s the first time I’ve been able to enjoy fresh air in here in almost a month. We had three weeks of incredibly hot and humid weather followed by almost a week of increasingly cloying wildfire smoke where, even without dramatic clouds of the stuff, would cause indoor air purifiers to spin-up like helicopters and leave me wondering how much garbage I was still inhaling. By Saturday night I felt like I had a bad head-cold that was shrugging-off the best efforts of any nasal sprays I possessed.
But the winds have shifted and I have a brief opportunity here to enjoy some of that increasingly scarce Nice Summer Weather. It’s gorgeous and I can’t help but feel relaxed when I look out at the dogs sunning themselves on the deck. It counteracts the stress that this weather creates, because suddenly I feel like I have to make the most of it. Do all the yard work! All the car washing! Quick, sit outside with a cold drink and a good book! Take a long walk! Enjoy life, quickly now! Chop chop!
At least it’s not the weekend and I don’t feel as much pressure to Min-Max My Summer. I can just follow the schedule below to see what I should be doing, and not worry about the rest.
