This Week at Remap

You're gonna hear me yap a lot about Pragmata in the coming year, I think. Folks, we have another 7/10 banger that's actually a 9/10 banger—depending on what you like out of games. Pragmata feels like a very deliberate throwback, a game with a paper thin premise that's mostly an excuse to experiment with the game's unique action/puzzle mashup. I'm obsessed, to the point that the only reason I haven't beaten the game yet is because I keep going back to old areas and collecting everything in them, so I can arbitrarily watch the percentage counter hit 100%. Do I need those items? No. Am I going to grab all of them? Yes. Sign of a good game.

A schedule for Remap
A look ahead at the next week of Remap.
  • STREAM: Marathon Mornings – Chia continues their work exploring the origins of the Marathon series—and, well, Bungie itself.
  • PODCAST: My Turn – Wake Up Dead Man (feat: Janet, Rob, Patrick, Chia) – It's remarkable we got three of these movies, and given some of the wild stuff happening with Trump at the moment, talking about what it means to wield religious power in the modern era feel like a very prescient discussion to have.
  • STREAM: Baby Steps (feat: Patrick, Chia) – Look, the Manbreaker wasn't quite what it was hyped up to be. But I also fell all the way to the bottom. There is no guarantee we'll take those final steps. But, one foot at a time, we walk.
  • ARTICLE/PODCAST: I've had an interview with the Minishoot Adventures developers in the hopper for a minute, hoping to turn that around this week.
  • PODCAST: Remap Radio (feat: Rob, Patrick, Chia, Janet) – Like I said, I'll have lots of Pragmata to yap about. I also think Janet's been playing it.
  • STREAM: Marathon (feat: Rob, Chia) – Well, it looks like Rob is fully hooked. (Also, truth be told, while I'm not playing the game, I am really digging its soundtrack.)
  • ARTICLE: Letter Series (feat: Rob, Patrick) – Topic TBD.
