This Week at Remap

On Friday evening, while putting my youngest daughter to bed, I did not intend to fall asleep. But as she asked me to hold her close while she drifted off, I briefly uttered "oh no" to myself before dozing off myself. All the exhaustion from the previous week—travel, streaming all day, marathon Switch 2 coverage—finally took its toll. But it was worth it, because that week was a ton of fun. My thanks to Ren and Austin for coming through, especially the day that I was not-so-secretly away playing Switch 2 stuff, and I cannot wait to get back together for Save Point later this year. This week, expect that we'll be pulling back on livestreams, but it's otherwise a pretty normal Remap.

  • LIVESTREAM ARCHIVES: This afternoon, I'll publish edited versions of our three days of livestreams with the intro shaved down and timestamps for all the events and major breaks in the day. We'll have the segments broken out into their own videos eventually, but that'll take a little bit longer to produce.
  • PODCAST: Remap Interview (Volgarr the Viking) – Sorry, this one is coming a few days later than planned, but it's a really fun conversation about the nature of designing a challenging game, what it means to put "surprise" into a game about difficulty, and more. You'll be more than fine to listen to this, even if you'e never played a Volgarr and don't care for super hard games.
  • ARTICLE: Remap Recommends – I don't think I can just keep yelling at people to watch The Pitt, but I'll certainly be tempted to do exactly that.
  • PODCAST: Remap Radio – I didn't get a chance to talk about South of Midnight onto Switch 2 podcast last week (I like it a lot, but ymmv), so hopefully we'll dig into that and more Switch 2 fallout.
  • ARTICLE: Letter Series – We skipped this last week because of the livestreams, but we'll get back to the grind. Not sure of the topic just yet.
