This Week at Remap

Phew! This week is already off to the races, with Nintendo showing off gameplay for its upcoming Ocarina of Time remake, and god willing, there's a world where by the end of the week, there could be a new Mario game on the horizon. My house has become a summoning circle and I have the kids doing Mario and Luigi coloring pages to help with the manifestation. I talk about this briefly on our socials, but I think the remake looks...pretty good? The young Link design is a miss, but it's mostly because the rest of the world doesn't really match his human-like qualities. Like, the Hylians look awesome! They look a little fucked up! But young Link really drags you towards the lazy fanboy "I made Zelda in Unreal Engine 5" accusations. We'll see if Nintendo tweaks the design at all before the game arrives later this year.

-pk, who will soon pivot towards summoning a Majora's Mask remake

P.S. Both Chia and Janet are out this week.

Remap's schedule for this week
Here's what's going on this week!
  • Stream (10 AM Wednesday, September 9): Lo-Fi PatrickCome hang out while I continue repairing tiny electronics in ReStory, while we mull some gaming headlines and watch the Nintendo Direct play out in real-time. (I figured streaming over the Nintendo Direct would be better than Zelda?)
  • Article (Thursday, September 10): A Plague Tale: Requiem's Fucked Up Ending – I spoiled the ending to Requiem on a podcast when the game came out, and I finally had a chance to ask the creatives behind that fucked up ending why exactly they decided to make an ending that fucked up. Stay tuned!
  • Podcast (Friday, September 11): Remap Radio – We're going to lose Natalie and Chia for this one, but both will be back next week! At least, until the week after, in which we'll then lose Janet for two weeks. Rob and I will be joined by a guest, wherein I can chat my time with Marvel's Wolverine.
  • Stream (Friday, September 11): Star Wars: Zero Company – We're waiting to nail down Natalie's schedule, but you can expect Rob and Natalie making another foray into the world of tactical puzzles before the week is up.
  • Library-Tier Article (Friday, September 11): Letter Series – Topic TBD.

Also, hey, just for fun. What do you want to see more of at Remap in the future? What ideas do you have that we're not thinking of? Drop some of your ideas in here. No guarantees on what we will or won't do, obviously, but I wanna hear your thoughts.
